How It Works

Community Sustained Agriculture (CSA) is a great way to eat locally and to support your local farmer. You buy a "membership" in the farm, and share in the risks and benefits of food production. If there is a bumper crop you benefit! And if there is a drought, your box might be a little smaller. CSAs help the farmer with her upfront costs like seeds, fertilizer, and equipment.

Organic-Now's season runs 12 weeks, with deliveries of 100% organic, ultra-fresh vegetables from a local family farm right to your doorstep. Along with the produce, you'll find original recipes to complement the week's harvest. You will be able to check the website a few days before delivery to see what will be in your box so that you can plan ahead.

Each share feeds a family with 1 to 2 small children, or 2 vegetarians. A share is $25 a week, and you buy a season (3 months) at a time.

Add-ons

We also have products to add to your box for an additional cost.

Bread: made with 100% organic flour, our bread comes from Full Circle Bakery in Penngrove.

Eggs: Our free-roaming chickens lay the best eggs! $6/Dozen.

What's in a Box

Here are some of the types of produce you'll find in your share:

Summer Fall Winter Spring
Eggplant Hot Peppers Lettuce Mix Green Garlic
Corn Winter Squash Spinach Broccoli
Bell Peppers Turnips Winter Squash Carrots
Green Beans Leeks Swiss Chard Peas
Summer Squash Cherry Tomatoes Radishes Baby Beets
Melons Beets Potatoes Spring Onions

Each growing season has its unique challenges. On occasion, a crop may fail due to conditions beyond our control. To diversify the risk, a wide range of crops are grown so that if some do not do so well, there will still be a plenty of food to fill your box each week. As members of the farm we all share the risks and rewards of the growing season.

About Organic-Now

Who We Are:
Marika Brussel, professional ballet dancer and teacher working with the elderly and inner-city kids. Her interest in food was piqued by competitions with her brother: Whoever made the better dinner didn't have to clean up. As a professional dancer she was inspired to find ways to eat well and nourish herself while maintaining a dancer's body. Marika also wrote "Let's Eat!" a popular column in the San Francisco Observer.

Valley End Farm is run by Sharon Grossi and her son Clint. It is all organic, and is a product of their commitment to pure, delicious produce.
