Are Organic-Now vegetables organic? Yes, Organic-Now provides 100% California-certified organic and USDA-certified organic vegetables. All of our produce comes from a local, 260-acre, woman-owned family farm. Are your fruits organic as well? Yes! Are Organic-Now vegetables grown locally? Yes, all Organic-Now vegetables and fruit are grown in Northern California and brought to you directly from the farm within hours of being harvested. Do the shares contain heirloom varieties? Yes! Organic-Now shares include many heirloom varieties of vegetables including tomatoes, garlic, and cucumbers. What is the quantity of food in a share? The quantity changes some from week to week depending on the weather and the harvest, although generally the shares contain 5-7 different types of vegetables and fruit. Shares are designed to feed 2 to 3 adults who love vegetables, or a family with small children. Vegetarian families or families with 3 or 4 serious appetites for veggies often get two shares per household. Do I get to choose what is in my box? In short, no. Each week our farmer packs the very best of her crop. It's always a fun surprise to see what shows up! And you can check our website the week before to preview your share. How do the add-ons work? Organic-Now offers several additions you can add to your box. Currently, we have an egg addition, pickle addition, and organic bread addition. You can try an addition just once, or add it to your order! How are Organic-Now crops delivered to me? Organic-Now delivers crops packed in wax-coated boxes to your doorstep. Please put the used box outside your door the following week for pick up. We reuse them! When are deliveries made? Organic-Now deliveries are made once per week during each 12 week season year round. Deliveries are made between 8 AM and 8 PM. The day of delivery depends on where you live. Do I need to be home to receive a delivery? No one needs to be home to receive an Organic-Now delivery, but please understand that the boxes are not marked with members' names or addresses unless requested. Can I suspend deliveries during the season if I go on vacation? We are able to suspend your deliveries during vacation weeks with a little advance notice, although payment is for the entire season regardless of missed weeks because our farmers need the funds to buy seed and operate the farms. Members can donate the weeks they miss to a local food pantry. We make all the arrangements and deliver the food; the recipients are always grateful for fresh food. Please let us know by Monday before delivery if you would like your delivery suspended. Can I become a member of Organic-Now after the season starts? Yes! We can pro-rate the cost of your share. How long is my membership? Our members order by the season (12 weeks) for $300. You can start at any time. Members can buy by the season, or buy an entire year at one time. You can also send us post-dated checks for each month if you prefer. Where do I send my check? Our mailing address is 633 E. 22nd Street, Oakland, CA 94606 Can I pay with a credit card? Yes.
